Some Americans will gain health care coverage under
the Affordable Care Act, while others will lose their current plans and still
more don't know yet.
This seems fishy to me.
“Now is when Americans start figuring out that
President Barack Obama's health care law goes beyond political talk, and really
does affect them and people they know.” This is the opening statement of the
article.
This scares me and I’m just a kid.
Americans are confused.
Come on Obama.
What
are we doing?
People
are unaware of what is going on. This needs to be changed.
Recently,
however, according to the article people are becoming more and more educated
everyday (within the last month) due to advertising. This is good.
According
to the article,
“Fifty-five percent now say they have enough
information to understand the law's impact on their family, up 8 percentage
points in just one month.”
What is interesting to me is that this article is
titled, “Obama's health law finally gets real for America,” This means this is
finally hitting Americas hard.
The Obama administration claims that nobody will
lose coverage as a result of cancellation notices that have been going out to
people. At least 3.5 million Americans have been issued cancellations however
there is no individual state data to back this up in about half the states.
According to the article,
“Officials say these consumers aren't getting
"canceled" but "transitioned" or "migrated" to
better plans because their current coverage doesn't meet minimum standards.”
This is also good. I’m not quite sure how I feel
about this yet though.
However, many Americas are unclear that they are
not being “cancelled” and just “transitioned” again, this is also known as our
government needs to get it together and help these people.
Obama is trying to sugarcoat this by saying this
only affects five percent of Americans. However, this is a country of more than
300 million people, five percent is about 15 MILLION PEOPLE! This blows my
mind.
Some Americans are trying to figure things out by
using websites that are supposed to help them see where they stand for a plan,
however no one knows for sure if these websites are reliable. This seems like
another problem. There are so many problems! What are we doing?
