Thanks for the laughs!

For anyone who has watched Saturday Night Live in the last 12 years you’ve probably caught a good laugh at the segment that airs every episode called “The Weekend Update With Seth Meyers”. Seth has probably got you laughing more than you think with his outlook on things in the news and his comical twist on them.

Seth Meyers had his last episode of Saturday Night Live yesterday, Saturday February 1. This was a sad moment for members of the cast and many Saturday Night Live fans. Seth Meyers segment is a segment that many people, including myself look forward to toning into every week.

Meyers called his "SNL" journey "the job I always wanted." Wouldn’t you love to have a job you’ve always wanted?

So why leave Saturday Night Live you ask?

Well Seth Meyers will be expanding his career and taking his lovable talents to new heights. Seth Meyers will now be the new host of the show “Late Night”.

This will be an exciting adventure for Seth and I know he will attract new followers to that show including myself.

As for Saturday Night Live and their “Weekend Update” head writer Colin Jost will replace Meyers at the anchor desk alongside Cecily Strong who has been hosting the “Weekend Update” this season with Seth Meyers.

This will bring a new twist to this sketch of Saturday Night Live but if it’s anything like the rest of SNL it will be a good twist.

The new Saturday Night Live “Weekend Update” will appear on March 1st. As for the rest of the month SNL will not be airing new episodes.

I feel that Saturday Night Live did a great job ending Seth Meyer’s career with them. They still stuck to their true SNL comedy but they also shed a few tears and brought back some old friends on Seth. SNL alumni Amy Poehler, Andy Samberg, Bill Hader and Fred Armisen all cast members helped Seth say goodbye.

This was a great way to show that the cast and the fans of SNL love Seth Meyers and thank him for his 12 years on the show.

Congrats on your new beginnings Seth and thanks for all the laughs!
